Office Description:

The Bureaucracy Lab is an initiative jointly led by the World Bank’s Development Impact Group (DIME) and Governance Global Practice (GGP) which seeks to promote the use of evidence and technology in public administration reform.

The Lab works closely with operational task teams to provide technical support on a range of governance-related issues. It offers data management and advisory services, providing key tools and guidance for impact evaluation analytics.

Description of the Work

The Bureaucracy Lab is in charge of managing and updating the Worldwide Bureaucracy Indicators (WWBI), covering over 300 indicators on the characteristics of public and private sector workforces, public sector wage bills, pay compression ratios and gender pay gaps. The intern will work on the update of the indicators analysis and visualizations based on the dataset.

Desired Skills

  • Data analysis skills based on survey data, administrative data. Stata, R are referred.
  • Knowledge of Tableau or other visualizations programs.
