SIG Stipends Program

The Stanford in Government (SIG) Stipends program provides motivated Stanford undergraduates with funding for unpaid summer policy internships. Since a majority of internships in the fields of policy and government are unpaid, the stipends program seeks to encourage students to pursue unpaid policy internships by making these professional opportunities more accessible.

In order to accommodate different notification deadlines for different government agencies, the stipends program has two rounds of applications. Students only need to apply to one round in order to receive a stipend. The application deadlines for summer 2020 stipends are February 4th and April 6th. For more details on application requirements, please visit the Stipends Application Information page.

COVID-19 UPDATE:

**All university-sponsored summer programs (including the Stanford in Government Stipends Program) are subject to the University's travel policies, and may not proceed if the University prohibits summer travel. We will update applicants and accepted students as soon as we have guidance from University leadership.**

We will not be extending the deadline for SIG Stipends, due to the need of many students to have confirmed funding early in the Spring. Please reach out to zacstoor@stanford.edu to ask for an extension.
