Office Description

At NYCEDC, we strengthen confidence in NYC as a great place to do business; grow innovative sectors, with a focus on equity; build neighborhoods as places to live, learn, work, and play; and deliver sustainable infrastructure for communities and the city's future economy. The Partnerships team is responsible for leading business development and strategic partnerships on behalf of New York City. Our business development pillar leads engagement with businesses considering moving to, expanding within, or leaving NYC. The strategic partnerships pillar is set up to further NYCEDC’s mission to create a vibrant, inclusive, and globally competitive economy for all New Yorkers through the creation of public private partnerships. 

Description of the Work

  • Support management of cross-departmental or cross-agency projects, ensuring project objectives are achieved; actively monitor and track progress of projects using appropriate tools to ensure timeline and objectives are met.     

  • Develop project plans that include analyses, scope of work, timelines, individual responsibilities, etc. 

  • Conduct research and prepare memos and presentation materials for meetings with internal leadership and external stakeholders, including C-suite executives.  

  • As needed, support local and domestic events, conferences, and engagements with foreign consulates, trade & investment offices, and diplomatic missions; partner on activities relevant to EDC’s work and initiatives that promote business opportunities and boost foreign direct investment.  

  • Support the external engagement strategy of our business development team.  

  • Other duties as assigned  

Desired Skills

  • Preferred field(s) of study: Business, Public Policy, Economics, International Relations, or Marketing.  

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply 

  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the mission of NYCEDC 

  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and analytical skills  

  • Demonstrated experience in using database and presentation tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word 

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines 

  • Ability to work in collaborative, cross-functional teams
