Office Description
The Middle East Council on Global Affairs (ME Council) is an independent, non-profit policy research institution based in Doha, Qatar. It conducts policy-relevant research, convenes meetings and dialogues, and engages policy actors on geopolitical and socioeconomic issues specific to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Serving as a bridge between the MENA region and the rest of the world, the ME Council provides a regional perspective on global policy issues. It also establishes partnerships with other leading research institutions and development organizations across the MENA region and the world.
Description of the Work
Research Support: Conducting literature reviews, gathering data, and preparing materials for policy discussions and publications.
Administrative Support: Summarizing events, assisting with regional updates, and performing general tasks to support program activities.
Professional Development: Enhancing research and writing skills, attending meetings, and receiving mentorship on career development.
Desired Skills
Strong academic performance.
Academic background in relevant fields (e.g., political science, international relations, economics).
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with Arabic proficiency highly desirable.
Specific programs may require familiarity with quantitative tools (e.g., Excel, STATA) or a demonstrated interest in conflict and security, foreign policy, or socioeconomic development.
