Office Description:

The Middle East Council on Global Affairs is an independent, non-profit policy research institution based in Doha, Qatar. The Council conducts policy-relevant research, convenes meetings and dialogues, and engages policy actors on geopolitical and socioeconomic issues facing the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The Council serves as a bridge between the MENA region and the rest of the world, providing a regional perspective on global policy issues and establishing partnerships with other leading research centers and development organizations across the MENA region and the world.

Potential Projects:

The SIG fellows would be working with different fellows from our different programs: Foreign Policy and Security, Conflict and Transition, and Governance and Development. For more on these programs and the type of projects we carry on, please check our Programs page

Desired Skills:

We are looking for students with:

  • A strong academic background with excellent writing and research skills; strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Arabic will be highly desirable; generally, the ME Council seeks candidates with a demonstrated interest in Middle East and North Africa politics and public policies.
